Through our dynamic market, we aim to strengthen connections, educate, and inspire a more resilient and interconnected community, food culture, and city.

Our Story
Global Gardens & Global LoungeThe West Bench Farmers Market was born from an idea put forward by two local nonprofits, Global Lounge and Global Gardens.
With overlapping missions, the organizations believed Boise was ready for a new farmers market — one with an international flair — located in the West Bench neighborhood. As a result, Global Gardens applied for and received a sizable USDA grant to help launch the market, with plans to gradually transfer more ownership responsibilities to Global Lounge. The market's primary goal is to provide a fresh food resource to a diverse community while creating economic opportunities for small-scale producers of ethnic goods and produce. |
